Reef? There's a REEF?

A Favorite Mistake!
Sometimes mistakes are made in a busy brewery. A few weeks ago we were brewing a fresh batch of First Reef, when a miscommunication between cellar shifts resulted in this batch getting its full dry-hop by both shifts. The resulting beer tasted great, but with the extra heavy dose of dry-hops it didn’t taste like First Reef, so we decided to call this batch by a new name. Reef? There’s a Reef? is still a 7.0% IPA brewed with a Pilsner base and small amount of honey malt, oats, and wheat. We still used a small amount of Simcoe in the kettle, but we ended up dry-hopping it at a rate of almost 10lbs per barrel with a blend of Citra, Galaxy, Amarillo and Cascade.
